The woman drunk with the blood of the saints is a lesson that is part of a series of 'PROOFS' that backup what I claim about who the Antichrist's system is: the Catholic Pope and the European Parliament.
I want to begin by focusing on the text of Revelation 17 verse 6.
Revelation 17:6: NKJ
6. And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
The woman spoken of here is the Great Harlot of Revelation 17 who plays harlotry with the whole world committing acts of wickedness with all of the kings of the earth. In this passage, God reveals to us that this harlot will be literally 'drunk' with the blood of the saints and martyrs (or witnesses another translation says) of Jesus.
It doesn't take us long to see who this harlot is by researching one particular book written specifically to record the martyrs of the saints and witnesses of Jesus Christ... Foxe's Book of Martyrs. A warning to young readers is that it is the most gruesome book you'll probably ever read, BUT the book reveals the TRUTH. Foxe's book also proves who the author of those acts are ... Satan. Only Satan and his servants could come up with the terrible acts of torture and murders the Catholic Popes, leaders and laymen of their church committed these last 2000 years.
In Foxe's Book of Martyrs, John Foxe recorded for us the testimonies and stories of the martyrs of Jesus Christ who suffered heinous tortures at the hands of the Catholic Popes, Bishops, Cardinals and laymen of the Catholic church. Not only Catholics were involved. Many Popes persuaded kings and other influential people to also commit these horrendous acts of murder and torture against true Christians.
Although the Catholics were not the only ones recorded that murdered the saints of God, they are the ones who murdered the most. Probably 98 percent of the murders of saints recorded in Foxe's Book of Martyrs were committed by the Catholic Popes, Bishops, Cardinals and laymen of the Catholic church or those whom the popes influenced to commit those murders. The Catholic Popes, Bishops, Cardinals, and laymen probably murdered hundreds of millions of true Christians from the first Century until now.
Others have added to Foxe's work and some have written modern versions that are more brief and written in more modern English.
The point is that John Foxe's work lives on to witness against the Catholic church as being the Harlot of Revelation chapter 17 who was "drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus."
There is no comparison in all of History who has murdered more true saints of Jesus Christ than the Catholic church. They probably exceed all of the nations combined at killing more true Christians.
Foxe's Book of Martyrs is the PROOF that they are the Great Harlot of Revelation 17 who is drunk with the blood of the saints. Read it. I also challenge Catholics to read it to see who your organization really is. If you are Catholic, I love you and Jesus loves you. But you need to come to the Truth of who the Pope really serves.
Christ does not murder saints of Jesus Christ. The Popes did murder the saints and history records the proof. Foxe's Book of Martyrs is the PROOF.
As I have already mentioned, the Catholic Popes convinced many kings to also participate in these murders which also fulfills Revelation 17 verse 2. Look at Revelation 17:1-2.
Revelation 17:1-2: NKJ
1. "... Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot
who sits on many waters,
2. "with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the
inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her
fornication.''
The wine the Great Harlot drank was the wine of murdering the saints of Jesus (shown earlier, above, in verse 6). But, as verse 2 points out, the Popes did not stop with her own organization in committing these awful murders. The Popes convinced the kings of the earth to also become drunk with this wine of murdering the saints of Jesus Christ.
The Catholic Pope's goal, throughout history has been and is even now to exterminate Christianity and Christians since the first Century A.D.
If you think current Popes are more accepting of true Christian Churches, look at this quote from The Associated Press on July 10th, 2007. The Pope "riled Protestant and other Christian denominations because it said they were not true churches but merely ecclesial communities and therefore did not have the "means of salvation."
The problem is that the Catholic church does not even follow the true steps of salvation that Jesus and the Apostles outlined in the Scriptures. And yet, they claim true Christians (Protestants and other Christian denominations) or their Churches, are not churches at all. No big surprise there. This statement verifies the statements from Foxe's Book of Martyrs that claim the Catholic church is the organization of the Antichrist. The introduction of the 1851 copy of the 1563 original version of John Foxe's Book of Martyrs says the Catholic Pope and Church is the Antichrist's organization.
Many first, second and third Century writers made this association that the Popes in the past were part of the Antichrist's organization. Many more writers, since the first, second and third Centuries also claimed and claim even now that the present Catholic Pope is part of the Antichrist's organization. This is not new news. It is only now being repeated from some of the earliest true Christian writings. The Catholic Popes of the past have gone to great lengths to hide and destroy these writings that bear this truth.
I was asked to speak at a Church recently and in my message I told the congregation that if I could only have two books in my possession, I would choose the Bible and Foxe's Book of Martyrs. Nothing compares to the Bible, of course, but I can also say no other book in History, besides the Bible, has done so much for Christianity than Foxe's Book of Martyrs.
One very overwhelming story that comes from Foxe's Book of Martyrs is the story of St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre.
